Early Literacy Kit for Infant & Toddler Teachers
Audience: Early childhood educators, child care teachers
This kit includes developmentally appropriate materials for infants and toddlers that promote language and literacy learning with a focus on listening and talking, playing with sounds, print concepts and reading aloud, and exploring letters. Parent Time: A Key to Understanding Video Kit

This 20-minute video is an excellent introduction to the power of parent involvement in children’s education. Strategies for planning and implementing effective Parent Time sessions are reviewed in depth, plus three real-life vignettes provide opportunities for viewers to observe and discuss. Parenting for Academic Success: A Curriculum for Families Learning English
Audience: Parent educators who work with English language learners, family literacy practitioners
This innovative curriculum is intended for beginning ELL parents with children in kindergarten through third grade, although it's also applicable for parents with younger children. The curriculum simultaneously builds parents' English language skills as they learn strategies to support their children's language and literacy development. Funded by Verizon Communications, the curriculum was developed by NCFL in collaboration with the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) and K. Lynn Savage, Educational Consultant. The curriculum consists of 12 units which can be implemented comprehensively or as separate learning experiences for parents, and includes parent workbooks and a comprehensive Teacher Resource Manual.
