Interactive reading inspires results in American Indian communities

Free toolkit boosts literacy volunteer efforts and student outcomes

A challenging economy and a growing awareness of the nation’s literacy crisis has prompted a surge of interest in literacy-related volunteerism.  Noting the continuing trend, NCFL identified a need to study and measure the effectiveness of volunteers in the family literacy setting and to provide programs with enhanced tools to maximize their capacity to work with volunteers.
