Parenting for Academic Success

Developed in collaboration with the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) and educational consultant K. Lynn Savage, Parenting for Academic Success is intended for beginning ELL parents with children in kindergarten through third grade. This research-based curriculum, funded by Verizon Communications, builds parents’ English language skills as they learn strategies to support their children’s language and literacy development. Parents learn and practice new concepts in the classroom, then transfer their learning home to help their children prepare for and succeed in school. Parenting for Academic Success is available through Delta Publishing Company. NCFL provides training to enhance the delivery of the curriculum.
