Conversation Starters were started in an attempt to encourage our parents to talk more with their children about the books they were reading. They had books to take home to read, but we did not see much interaction or extension taking place.

Conversation Starters offer parents suggestions of how to promote phonemic awareness, have fun with rhyming, build vocabulary, increase background knowledge, help with comprehension, plus have fun reading and talking with their children.
