The Thinkfinity Literacy Network (TLN) is a free, online platform that leverages technology to deliver needed and valued resources to anyone interested in improving literacy. With content developed and approved by literacy experts like the National Center for Family Literacy and ProLiteracy Worldwide, the TLN is designed to empower teachers, volunteers, parents, caregivers and students of all ages with the tools to advance literacy development. The TLN is funded through a generous grant from Verizon Communications.
The TLN is a comprehensive resource with research-based applications, including:
- Best practices, lesson plans and online courses for literacy instructors, community-based organizations, students and volunteers
- Courses specific to English as a Second Language (ESL) learners
- "How to" instruction on everything from program development to volunteer recruiting to strategic corporate giving
- Qualified databases for organizations needing volunteers or volunteers looking for a good cause
- A Virtual Advisor manned by a trained literacy expert
- Studies highlighting the importance of literacy development throughout the life span
- Research explaining 21st Century literacy
