Throughout the year, NCFL and its partners present numerous special events to create understanding about low literacy and about how family is the transformative structure to improve literacy for adults and children. Many events are hosted for the public, while others—like the National Conference on Family Literacy and the Toyota Family Literacy Teacher of the Year Award—are designed to honor and exemplify best practices in the literacy education field.
